OUR HISTORY

2024: A Vision Takes Root

 

Yavapai Exploration and Science (YES!) was founded in June 2024 with a vision to create more opportunities for children and families to explore science through hands-on learning. What began as an idea quickly grew through the enthusiasm and support of our community.

During our first year, we brought engaging STEAM activities to local events, libraries and community spaces throughout Yavapai County. These early outreach programs allowed us to connect with families, build meaningful relationships and demonstrate the need for an accessible place where curiosity, creativity and discovery could thrive.

 

2025: Expanding Our Reach

 

In 2025, YES! expanded its programming and developed new partnerships with schools, libraries and community organizations. We offered hands-on STEAM Labs at local libraries, participated in Nature Niños and brought educational activities to events and families across Yavapai County.

Each new partnership helped us reach more children, explore new program ideas and strengthen our role as a trusted community resource for hands-on STEAM learning. This year of growth laid the foundation for our biggest step yet: creating a permanent home for YES!

2026: Opening the YES! Center

 

In 2026, our vision became a reality with the opening of the YES! Exploration Center in Prescott. The Center gives children and families a welcoming place to explore, create, build, experiment and learn together throughout the year.

​

Today, we are expanding the ways we serve families through the Early Explorers Learning Lab, STEAM programming, camps, field trips, birthday parties and other special learning opportunities. At the same time, we continue bringing hands-on programs into schools, libraries and community events throughout Yavapai County.

As YES! continues to grow, we remain committed to making meaningful learning experiences accessible to local children and inspiring young minds to explore, learn and grow.
