In 2024, Amanda Voss, a seasoned educator with fifteen years of experience, realized a long-held dream to create a place where the wonders of science could come to life. Motivated by her passion for teaching and her belief in the transformative power of interactive learning, Amanda set out to establish a science center that would inspire curiosity and foster a love for science among young learners. Thus, Yavapai Exploration and Science (YES!) was born, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in science education.

 

In its early stages, Yavapai Exploration and Science was a vision coming to life with the support and dedication of its founding board. With a modest initial setup, YES! began with outreach events free to the public with a collection of engaging and hands-on activities designed to captivate the imaginations of children and families. Each lesson reflected the organizations commitment to creating an interactive environment where learning about science was both fun and meaningful.

 

Though still in its infancy, YES! is poised for a promising future. The commitment to innovation and educational excellence remains at the heart of our mission. Our vision is to cultivate a society where curiosity is celebrated, critical thinking is encouraged, and innovation thrives. As we continue to grow, our goal is to establish a science center in the community and further develop our exhibits and programs to enhance our ability to inspire and engage young minds.

 

Looking ahead, YES! is excited about the opportunities to expand our impact and enrich our offerings. We are dedicated to building on Amanda Voss's original vision, continually evolving to meet the needs of our community and inspire the next generation of scientists and innovators.
